Roxan Martinez Gonzales, LAC, was born and raised in Honduras, Central America. She recently earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services from John Brown University and additional studies in Child Life from Louisiana Tech University.
Roxan has always been passionate about advocating for children—empowering them, equipping them with tools for success, and helping create safe environments. Her experience includes working with children and families across various settings, including ministry, hospitals, missions, and education.
As a Hispanic/Latina woman, she values the importance of educating individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds about mental health with cultural sensitivity and respect.
During her training, Roxan has utilized Child-Centered Play Therapy, art, and sandtray techniques. Her ultimate goal is to become a Registered Play Therapist.
In her free time, Roxan enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Manuel, and their two dogs, Willy and Dottie. She also loves visiting her family in Honduras, connecting with friends, traveling, discovering new coffee shops, and exploring all that Northwest Arkansas has to offer.
