Kelly Smith, LCSW received her Master of Social Work degree in 2011 from Texas State University and has recently relocated to the Northwest Arkansas area. She has had the privilege of working with children and families throughout her career in a variety of settings, including schools, residential treatment, and community-based organizations.

Kelly believes deeply in a person’s innate ability to move toward healing when given appropriate, effective support. She takes a compassionate, person-centered approach to her work and pulls from a variety of therapeutic modalities to meet clients’ individual needs. Kelly strives to build nurturing, collaborative relationships with clients, while providing them with a safe space and supportive interventions to aid them on their journey toward mental health and wellness. She has experience working with individuals who have been impacted by trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss and stressful family changes, including parental incarceration and divorce.

Kelly has received specialized training in EMDR, an evidence-based treatment that provides relief from symptoms stemming from experiences of trauma or other distressing life events. Kelly has also received training in and incorporates play-based interventions, expressive therapies and mindfulness in her work with younger clients. Kelly began working toward her Registered Play Therapist certification in Texas and plans to continue to pursue this certification.

In her free time, Kelly is enjoying exploring beautiful Northwest Arkansas and spending time with her husband and daughter.
