Director of Training, Professional Development

Shakira Eakins, LCSW, CCTP-1, is our Director of Training and Professional Development. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas. For over 8 years she has served the people of Northwest Arkansas as a mental health professional. While her primary focus has been with children, adolescents and families, she also has experience working with adults across the lifespan. She has treated clients struggling with depression, self harm, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, and racial identity challenges. She is also an affirmation therapist who is passionate about providing mental health services for LGBTQIA individuals.
Shakira is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is a Level 1 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She believes in the importance of the brain-emotion connection when working with clients. She likes to meet individuals and families where they are, allowing them to take the lead in their mental health journey. Her down-to-earth personality allows others to feel at ease and facilitates a strong therapeutic relationship.
In her free time Shakira enjoys photography, reading, binge watching tv, and spending time with her husband and four children.
