Michelle Posey, LCSW received her Master of Social Work in 2018 from the University of Arkansas. Michelle has spent over 12 years (3 years licensed) in the field of Mental Health serving children, adolescents, and families in both outpatient and school based settings. She has treated clients struggling with ADHD, anxiety, anger, autism spectrum, behavioral issues, depression, emotion regulation, family adjustments such as moves, loss or divorce, grief, family issues, and trauma; while helping children learn to identify emotions, learning coping skills, emotion regulation, helping with appropriate social skills, as well as social/emotional learning.
Michelle uses a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, as well as some aspects of Play Therapy. She is also trained in Level 1 Theraplay for Individuals and Groups. She loves working with Children and families, and believes they are experts on themselves and have within them the ability to grow, change, and thrive. She works to build rapport with not only the client but their families, uphold each client’s worth, help them find value within themselves, and help them to succeed.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, flea market shopping, and taking care of her many pets; 2 cats, 1 dog, 2 lizards, and her goat named Effie.
